DARK COMEDY / ABSURDIST ADVENTURE  WITH SUPERNATURAL ELEMENTS

Aarne, a reclusive, middle-aged African-American man with autistic traits, lives peacefully in the frozen wilderness of Lapland, caring for his ailing grandmother—until her sudden hospitalization throws him into a chaotic spiral. Drunkenly crashing his snowmobile and accidentally killing a stranger, Aarne stumbles upon a mystical staff and a cryptic radio Dispatcher promising to save his grandmother if he delivers the artifact. Along the way, Aarne encounters murderous snowmobilers led by the ruthless Ulf, bumbling locals, and a mysterious Shaman who speaks in riddles and channels the spirit of his grandmother. As the staff’s true, absurd power unfolds, Aarne finds himself in increasingly bizarre situations—culminating in a showdown on a mountaintop where the lines between myth, madness, and salvation blur.

Aarne, fighting to protect the staff, realizes that everyone—from Ulf to the Shaman—wants a piece of its divine power, which leads him to a desperate decision: in an unexpected turn of events, Aarne must use the staff in the most absurd way imaginable—literally shoving it where the sun doesn’t shine. As the mountaintop erupts in a white burst of mystical energy, Aarne awakens transformed but with a sore behind and newfound clarity.

With a mix of dark comedy and absurdity, Aarne’s journey to deliver the staff to next Jesus Christ in line, takes him through a surreal exploration of faith, family, and self, ultimately discovering that even in a world gone mad, redemption can come from the strangest places—just maybe not from a staff up your ass.
